NIGH CITTA, KIALGA -- Celebrations are ongoing after the Kialgan National Football Team defeats the Alunya National Team earlier today. The season opener was played in the recently renovated Grounders Stadium in the capital city of Kialga. The stadium was filled to maximum capacity, with estimates of around 75,000 seats being filled at any given time.

By the sixth minute, Kialgan Midfielder, Boyd Leyton, had scored. Leyton is quoted as saying "...the shot was easy. [They] had opened up just enough for me to get the best shot." Leyton tried playing off this first goal, but was unable to. As the thiry-seventh minute approached, Leyton was sent out with a red card after spitting at an Alunyan player. Coach Harford was highly disappointed, but made no comment on the incident.

The game resumed quietly there-after. As the fifty-first minute approached, Forward Joshua Dexter was set up for a goal of his own. Dexter was humble after his goal, quoted as saying "I just got lucky." Dexter is returning to the field after suffering a minor concussion three weeks prior in a club game.

As the final minutes ticked down, Kialgan fans were cheering for a two-nothing victory in the first game. However, Alunya had different plans it seemed. As Goalkeeper Lambert Hayley seemed to be cooling down, Alunyan Forward, Achille Ratti, scored on Hayley in the eight-eighth minute, placing the goalie back on high awarness. Coach Harford was disappointed that Hayley let the goal past him, but refused any comment but praise for the young goalie from Dea Citta.

Regulation time ended, and Kialgan fans rejoyced. The teams celebrations will be short lived, unfortunatly, as the team heads across the Peron Ocean into Herodas. Coach Harford was asked to comment on the upcoming match. He is quoted as saying "...one [home] win, and that isn't enough. Herodas has a win on the road, and we must be able to match that win if we want to make it through this season." Kialgan players leave Nigh Citta early in the morning.
